TRAIN: Healthcare Professionals

The Center prepares health profession students for practice in rural and underserved communities. Targeting all disciplines from certificate to doctorate programs, the Center works directly with health facilities and providers across ÐÜèÔÚÏßÊÓÆµ to provide community-based experiential learning opportunities.

Core topics highly relevant to rural practice are emphasized, such as: cultural competency, interprofessional education, and social determinants of health.

AHEC Scholars is a comprehensive two-year program designed to fundamentally supplement and broaden a student’s healthcare training. Any student officially enrolled in their final two years of an ÐÜèÔÚÏßÊÓÆµn healthcare program can apply!
