Residence Life

Residence Life provides a living and learning environment through programs, services and opportunities that contribute to the personal and academic success of students living in the UAA residential community. Residence Life employs and trains the Resident Advisors (RAs), Peer Academic & Wellness (PAW) leaders, Indigenous & Rural Leaders (IRLs) and other student staff who live and work in the residence halls.

Contact Residence Life with questions about residential activities, housing programs, student conduct, welfare checks, roommate agreements or conflict, room changes, housing applications, room assignments, contracts, meal plans, check-in, facilities, etc.

The Information Desk Staff can assist with: 

  • Package pick-up
  • Temporary keys for lock-outs before 5 p.m. on weekdays*
  • Placing maintenance work orders
  • Adding a Meal Plan mid-semester (fall and spring semesters)
  • General questions about UAA's residential community

*From 8 a.m.鈥�5 p.m., Monday鈥揊riday, call 907-529-9177 for assistance, or come to the Residence Life Information Desk in the Gorsuch Commons between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to get a temporary key.

Information Desk Hours for fall 2025: 

  • Monday-Friday:  10 a.m.--7 p.m.
  • Saturday: 12 p.m.--4 p.m.
  • Sunday: Closed

Special hours during winter or spring break or breaks between semesters will be posted at the Commons Information Desk. 

Resident Advisors (RAs)-on-Duty are student staff available to assist residents when the Residence Life office or the Commons Information Desk is closed.  

The RA-on-Duty can assist with: 

  • Lock-outs after 5 p.m. or on weekends or university-observed holidays.*
  • Maintenance emergencies (especially anything involving a burst pipe or running water)
  • Safety concerns
  • Noise complaints

RAs for each community are on duty during the following hours: 

  • Weekdays:  5 p.m.--8 a.m.
  • Weekends and holidays: 24 hours
