Faculty Senate Academic Assessment Committee

Purpose/Charge

The Faculty Senate Academic Assessment Committee (AAC) is a standing committee of the Faculty Senate. The AAC was created to provide peer leadership, support, and review of academic assessment. The AAC serves as a cross-campus forum for the exchange of ideas, information, and advice on methods and practices of academic assessment, with a focus on improving student learning. The Committee plays a major role in supporting program faculty, encouraging programs to focus on assessment that is meaningful, manageable, and organically connected to their direct work with students. The senior vice provost for Academic Affairs and Institutional Effectiveness serves Ex Officio on the Committee, providing guidance, information and resources, and their office provides basic staff support to the Committee.
